Tejshree Initiative for Empowerment of School Adolescents for Prevention of Sexual Harassment
TIPSH is one of the BTMF’s ongoing tributes to Late Tejshree Thapa, a fierce advocate for justice for the world’s most powerless people, with a brilliant mind and a deeply empathetic heart.
On 29th April 2022, Ms. Bimala Bhandari, Chair, Nepali Journalist Federation, Kaski kindly inaugurated the TIPSH program that would empower around 400 school adolescents, both girls & boys, against gender discrimination & sexual harassment, including self defense. It is expected that the TIPSH would enhance information, knowledge , attitude and skills to protect themselves against the highly prevalent public health problems i.e. gender discrimination & sexual harassment.
The inauguration was attended by several metropolitan officials, namely Ms. Geeta Neupane, Social Development Department; Mr. Hem Prasad Acharya, Education Department; Mr. Hemant Poudel, Health Department; Mr. Dilliram Sharma, Principal, Shri Chhorepatan Secondary School; Mr. Tirthraj Adhikari former ward chair; and Dr. Kumar Samsher Rana, the senior most physician serving the Pokhara metropolitan longest.
